Day 9 Dumfries to Stevenston

We were served our first helping of haggis as part of our Scottish breakfast this morning. Delicious!
We then cycled through the Ayrshire countryside, calling in at Drumlarig Castle for morning coffee. A magnificent castle to revisit some time. We chatted to a group of bikers who couldn't believe our challenge.
The cycling has been made harder for us today by fairly strong wind; the first day it has hindered rather than assisted us since Land's End!
We cycled to Ayr and then to Stevenston, arriving at the b + b after 8 pm.   Supper and bed!

Trip 83 miles  Avg 12.34  Max 32.66  Total 685 miles

  2. I would have thought the wind preferable to the diabolical conditions you faced on Shap. You are doing fantastically well. Hope the rest of your journey goes well. We'll be following your blog! S & J
